He was the original source of the Juathuur powers, bestowing them on their ancestors as a gift. But when he did so, he violated one of the sacred laws of the Gods that forbid them from meddling overly with the creatures of the universe. As punishment (and to keep him out of trouble), the head god shackled him to a tree on the God’s homeworld, where he is forced to live a very lonely existence.
At one time, Merlu had a wife and child, but his family was murdered by Lok. Merlu is also known as The Second, being the second god to awaken after the First. Before his penance he was The First’s right hand and in spite of his fall from grace, most of the other gods still holdhim in high regard.
